Industry Response to GHG Phase 3
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has unveiled its final rule for Greenhouse Gas Emissions Standards for Heavy-Duty Vehicles – Phase 3. ATA and other industry stakeholders strongly oppose this rule and its likely effect on the trucking industry and the economy.
Beginning in 2027, the rule sets higher stringency emission standards year-over-year along a six-year timeline, effectively requiring truck and engine manufacturers to sell an increasingly higher percentage of zero-emission vehicles.
